The latest report from Italy has revealed the maximum amount Napoli are willing to pay for Darwin Nunez.
The Uruguay international’s future has been one of the major talking points of the summer transfer window.
Despite flashes of brilliance since his potential £85 million arrival in 2022, Nunez has fallen down the pecking order under Arne Slot and is now available for transfer once the club’s valuation is met.
Serie A champions Napoli and Saudi Pro League heavyweights Al-Hilal have both expressed strong interest.
But the Naples side appears to be the 26-year-old’s preference.
“Liverpool are not lowering their demands to between 65 and 70 million, Napoli would not go beyond 40-45 for him,” the report revealed.
“The trail has not faded, indeed it has been relaunched in the last few hours.
A concrete offer on the Reds’ table has not yet arrived: the Azzurri staff wants to be sure of hitting the mark.”
